Rental Conditions / Rate Details Explained

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

This means if the rental car is damaged, you will be covered for the cost of repairing the vehicle,
you will however have to pay an excess charge towards the cost of the repair. This excess will depend
on the rental agent and the type of vehicle. This applies regardless of fault. This waiver does not include
international damage/gross negligence, damage by using incorrect fuel, damage to tyres, loss of keys
and damage caused as a result of a breach of rental agreement.

Domestic US rates generally do not include CDW.

Vehicle Theft Waiver

This removes or reduces the renter's liability for the attempted theft or theft of the rented vehicle.
The waiver may carry an excess/deductible amount, which means that the renter will be liable for a certain
amount of the value of the vehicle damaged or stolen, for example up to first £2,000 of the damage.

Domestic US rates generally do not include Theft Waiver.

SAFETY TIP:
Car4RentSpain.com recommends that you remove the identifying tag that is usually on the key
ring of the vehicle and store it safely elsewhere.
If the vehicle is stolen and the renter cannot return the key i.e. the renter was negligent and left
the key in a prominent and vulnerable location, the renter may be liable for the full cost of the vehicle.

Third Party Liability Insurance
Every country has a minimum amount of insurance needed for someone to be permitted to drive. This covers
the renter's liability for any damage caused to other people and⁄or other people's property. It is usually
limited to a maximum of €1,000,000. The insurance is limited and there may be excess i.e. you may be liable
for any amount over and above the value of the insurance.

Domestic US rates generally do not include Third Party Insurance.

Premium Location/Airport Fee
Every country has a minimum amount of insurance needed for someone to be permitted to drive. This covers
the renter's liability for any damage caused to other people and⁄or other people's property. It is usually
limited to a maximum of €1,000,000. The insurance is limited and there may be excess i.e. you may be liable
for any amount over and above the value of the insurance.

VAT Local Tax
This is a tax applied by the government on car rental and the percentage (%) varies from country to country.

This tax is generally included in your online quote but you will be subject to tax if you agree to any optional
extras at the rental desk.

Road Fund Tax / VLF
This is a charge applied by rental companies to cover the cost of vehicle licensing.
This charge is generally included in your on-line quote.

Unlimited Mileage
Unlimited mileage is generally included in our rates; however some rental agents may only offer limited mileage.
Please check your rental conditions before completing your booking.

Break Down Assist
Breakdown assistance is provided by the rental agent so you will need to contact them directly to report
any mechanical failures. Breakdown assistance will only cover you for any mechanical failure of the rental vehicle.
You can obtain further information regarding the terms of the cover from the rental provider.

Price Promise
Car4Rent SPAIN sources the best value prices from suppliers across the globe, saving you time and money.
We are so confident in our low rates that we offer our customers a price promise.

Our Price Promise: "In the event that you should find a lower price on another website within 7-days of your reservation,
we will refund you the difference." All price promise requests are handled Mon to Fri 8am to 5pm. Requests may be submitted
any time using the Price Promise form.

Price Promise does not include vehicles that have an "on request" status with Car4RentSpain.com
or the company under comparison.

The actual rental value and service may only be compared. Optional extra costs including additional driver, child seats,
GPS systems etc will not be considered. Price promise covers the before or after booking date up until the rental start
date and does not apply to promotional offers. Car4RentSpain.com must verify the terms and conditions of the alternative offer.
When the price, suppliers and T&Cs have been checked, a member of the price promise team will be in contact with an update
on your quoted rate. It is important to bear in mind that 'like for like' refers to product and service and not additional options.
For example, if the other price is for an off rental airport and Car4RentSpain.com is on airport, this will not be deemed 'like for like'.

Your Voucher

What is a voucher and why do I need one?
Your rental voucher is a document, which will be emailed to you and must be printed and produced at the rental desk
when you pick-up your vehicle. It is imperative that you have it in your possession. If you do not produce your voucher
at the time of collection of the vehicle, the car rental supplier may ask you to pay more or refuse you your rental.
If you do not produce your voucher at the rental counter we cannot accept any appeal for a refund.

I can't find my voucher. Could you please send the voucher again?
Please click here to view and print an online version: Remember to take this to the rental counter with your driving
licence and the credit card.

What happens if I do not take my voucher with me?
If you do not have correct paperwork when picking up the vehicle then the car rental supplier may refuse to rent the
vehicle to you.

One Way Rentals

What are cross border or territional restrictions?
Cross border or territorial restrictions simply means that with certain countries you may have the option to travel
between country borders. This option will be specified in the terms and conditions and usually has a fee attached.
You must also get permission from the car rental agent to travel between one country and another. A charge generally applies too.

Fuel

What is a fuel policy? A fuel policy is a specific term and condition set by the car rental agent regarding the charge associated with
the fuel of the vehicle. Car rental agents have different fuel policies. Please check your terms and conditions
for the specific fuel policy or rate details on step 2 of the booking process.

Age Restrictions

What are age restrictions?
Age restrictions are set by car rental agents. This means that for insurance purposes the car rental agent may have
a minimum or maximum age of the driver they can rent to. All age restrictions will be in the terms and conditions
of each rental. Some companies also have a young or senior driver's fee for specific age groups.

Extras

I have booked a baby/booster for my child. Where can I see this confirmed in my booking?
Once the vehicle is confirmed please check your booking voucher. The voucher has a section which shows the additional
extras you have booked including baby seats, booster seats or additional drivers. These extras are not included
in the price quoted; they must be paid for on arrival. Please note, these extras are only requested and not guaranteed.

extras you have booked for example baby seats, booster seats or additional drivers. These extras are not included

Insurance

How do I reduce the excess on the vehicle? Can I take out additional insurances to reduce it?
You can purchase additional insurances to reduce the excess on the vehicle. This can be done at the car rental
agent's office on arrival. If you choose not to purchase additional insurances a pre-authorisation is required.
This pre- authorisation is taken from your credit card. Please see your terms & conditions for further details.

Licence

What is an international driver's licence and why do I need one?
The International Driving Licence (IDL) is recognised worldwide as a valuable document that identifies its holder
as a licensed driver when your licence is not in the same language as the country in which you are driving.
You must also produce a National Driver's Licence with this licence; otherwise it will not be accepted.

Do I need both parts of my British licence to rent a vehicle?
If you have the new photo ID licence you must take the paper counterpart as well. If you do not present both
the card and the counterpart you will not get the vehicle. If your licence is written in Chinese, Russian
or any 'picture' script then you will need to obtain an international driver's permit before you travel from
your country of residence.

on the voucher or in the rental conditions may not include tax (VAT). In this case it will be indicated.
Please check the rental conditions online or on the rental voucher if you have already made your booking
for what taxes are included.

Why does Car4rentSpain.com not display car rental brands?

Why does Car4rentSpain.com not display car rental brands?
As you know, Car4RentSpain.com searches and compares the prices of 550 car rental agents to offer you the cheapest rates
in the market. Rental agents constantly compete against each other to ensure that we display their rate
as one of our cheapest available offers. Therefore, in the interest of fair competition between our car
rental agents, we cannot identify their brand names until after you have completed your booking.
